Gianna Fest, our annual carnival formerly known as Martyrs Fest, returns Friday-Sunday, September 22-24. With live entertainment, including from the famous Dueling Pianos, carnival rides, lots of food and beverages, and our annual $10,000 raffle, Gianna Fest promises to be a weekend filled with fun and excitement for attendees of all ages!
Registration for the Faith Formation classes grades 1-8 is now open for the 2023-2024 school year. Families new to Faith Formation at St. Gianna Parish with children in grades 3-8 are asked to provide sacrament certificates along with verification of attendance from the previous Catholic school or the parish Religious Education Program they attended. All First, Second, and Confirmation Level 2 parents are asked to turn in a copy of their child's baptismal certificate upon registration. Classes begin on September 10.

The village of Evergreen Park is hosting their 4th of July parade on Friday, June 30 this year. We would like for St. Gianna Parish and Queen of Martyrs School to have a strong presence in the parade. We will meet on Friday, June 30 at 5:45 p.m. near 97th St. & Springfield Ave. to line up for the parade. We are float #31. Even if you can't march with us, be sure to watch for us!

We are pleased to bring what was a St. Bernadette tradition to our new parish of Queen of Martyrs & St. Bernadette - Cow Pie Bingo. This year, we will host the annual Cow Pie Bingo on Sunday, June 25 starting with 10:30 a.m. Mass, followed by Cow Pie Bingo and other activities on the Queen of Martyrs campus.
In December 2022, demolition began on our St. Bernadette School building. We are able to save a limited number of bricks that will allow alumni to own a small part of the school. In addition to giving you a permanent piece of St. Bernadette history, your brick will continue to impact the education of students in the parish as a portion of each brick sale will fund the St. Bernadette School Scholarship Program.
Queen of Martyrs & St. Bernadette Parish offers financial aid for active parishioner families which have children attending Catholic grade schools and high schools in the area. The intent of the scholarships is to encourage our families’ involvement in the Catholic school system.
At the beginning of the pandemic in March, 2020, Cardinal Cupich provided a general dispensation from the obligation of attending Sunday Mass. With vaccinations and boosters, restrictions on public gatherings have eased up and the Cardinal will lift his dispensation on the First Sunday of Advent, November 26-27.

We know that people often come to the rectory to request Mass Intentions, and that not everyone is free during the hours that the rectory is open. If you are unable to stop at the rectory during this time, you can continue to request Mass intentions.
